I enjoyed the early Uncharted games, not surprising since I'm a big Tomb Raider fan.

Tomb Raider is another series I missed by being from a Nintendo family. I remember being aware of it, and maybe considering picking up the one that was released on the Gamecube, but never played any of the games.

It doesn't surprise me to see overlap between Tomb Raider and Uncharted fanbases, though, even just based on theme and tone alone.

Even the Uncharted games didn't make it into my house until The Husband acquired a PS3 to play them in...2016? 2017? He's an audio-fiction guy, so he'd been excited about the things he'd heard about the story and voice acting.

Thinking about it now, I'm surprised how well those things held up that far past when the game first came out. Certainly proof of the quality of Nolan North's voice acting (in case there was any doubt about that).

Yes, the acting in Uncharted was a big appeal for me (not just the voice, but the mocap too). That took it even closer to an Indiana Jones adventure than Tomb Raider, and I would say that the later Tomb Raider games (specifically the latest three) took a lot of inspiration from Uncharted in that regard.
